We have had the privilege to work on some amazing projects with some lovely customers, so this is where we get to share some of our experiences with you, so you can see what we do, and more importantly, what we do differently.
With this relaunch of our website we are starting small, with just a couple of our favourite projects, but this will be an ever-expanding section of our site, presenting the stories, the relationships and the craftsmanship that separates us from our competition.
We hope one day to have the privilege of adding your project to this list.
There are over 7,000 conservation areas in England alone, areas that are protected because of their architectural or historic significance, and where property owners are restricted from making certain external changes to their homes. This is why, when replacing the windows and doors on such properties, it is so very important that exact replicas are produced to replace broken, worn or damaged units.
We know that if the workmanship on such a project does not meet expected standards then homeowners can get themselves into hot waterfind themselves in difficulties with the local planning authorities, so we were honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility on this project.
The Order
The property concerned is located in the centre of one of 76 conservation areas in Richmond and was going through a total refurbishment and reconfiguration from a retail establishment into a shop and a number of apartments.
Our client on this project was a developer we had worked with and supplied on numerous other projects, so they knew we would deliver on quality, on schedule, and on precision replication to comply with conservation area requirements. And, to ensure that they got what they were expecting from us, we even removed one of the Roman arch sash windows and shipped it to our factory, so we could accurately template the window’s intricate mouldings.
The order consisted of 3 French doors, 5 flush casement windows, 6 sash windows and 7 Roman arch sliding sash windows. All sash windows had sash horns and oval mouldings, and everything had to match the original units we were replacing.
We not only manufactured all these windows and doors and finished them to perfection, but our FENSA regulated installation team fitted them for our developer client as well.
Our client was happy, the local planning authority ensured the architectural integrity of the property was maintained, and the apartments looked stunning.
