Each of our window and door units is available in five wood options, all sourced from sustainable European forests. The wood options available are as follows:

Nordic Pine (Softwood)
Meranti (Hardwood)
European Oak (Hardwood)
Accoya Wood (The best hardwood on the market)
Mahogany and Red Grandis (Hardwoods) on request

SashLine use only Engineered finger-jointed wood for extra strength, and uniquely we use hardwood on all CILLS.

We also do the following combination of wood. Hardwood outside, softwood inside:
OAK outside / Pine inside
Accoya outside / Pine inside

Pine with Hardwood cill - an engineered softwood, finger-jointed for extra strength (Pine is also known as Redwood).

Meranti - a ubiquitous hardwood and is characterised by its excellent strength, stiffness and resistance to creep which makes it suitable for Front doors and wall structures. It has a higher density, strength and biological durability.

European Oak – a dense hardwood and remarkably strong and durable wood. Oak wood naturally contains a high proportion of tannin that makes it highly resistant to attack by insects or fungi.

Accoya™ – the best hardwood on the market - a modified timber that has been treated with a non-toxic acetylation process which changes the cellular structure of the timber making it extremely durable and resistant to environmental damage.

RED Grandis - is a premium quality hardwood with similar qualities to Oak. This type of timber is excellent for high-end uses, with exceptional durability. Before treatment, the wood is consistent in colour with warm slight pink to rosy tones, making it perfect for our paints and stains.
